A Safe Space to Grow, Learn, and Connect (Grades 6-12)
Middle & High School Program
Navigating Adolescence with a Trusted Community
As students transition into middle and high school, academic demands increase and social dynamics shift. RISE provides ongoing guidance and deep connection during this critical time. Whether students have been with us since kindergarten or are just stepping through our doors, the Little Blue House serves as a safe, welcoming anchor for our local teens to relax, study, and plan for their futures.
Core Cohort (Thursdays)
Every Thursday afternoon, our core MS/HS cohort meets at the Little Blue House for focused academic and personal development. We ensure our older scholars have a consistent environment they can rely on, featuring:
Academic & Homework Support: In-person tutoring, quiet study spaces, and dedicated 1-on-1 tutoring blocks to ensure students stay on track and build confidence.
"Future Roadmap" Workshops: Guided, interactive weekly sessions where students build personal roadmaps covering goal setting, career exploration, college planning, and essential life skills.
A Safe Haven: A comfortable, welcoming environment complete with healthy snacks and peer connection to refuel after the school day.
"RISE & Recharge" Community Drop-In (Wednesdays)
(Launching Mid-September) We are thrilled to expand our programming to include a free, community-wide drop-in series called RISE & Recharge. Every Wednesday, we open our doors to local youth and young adults (ages 12–25) for a judgment-free afternoon of connection. To provide holistic care, these sessions alternate weekly:
Creative Studio Weeks: Hosted in partnership with the San Mateo County Libraries (East Palo Alto Branch), offering hands-on maker projects, crafts, and open studio time.
Wellness Workshop Weeks: Hosted in partnership with allcove, providing accessible, youth-led sessions focused on mindfulness, stress management, and self-care.
